As a Cannon Beach elopement photographer, I loved photographing this fun and adventurous couple at Haystack Rock. This was my first trip out the the Pacific Northwest, and it sure didn’t disappoint. It amazes me how all the things I love (mountains, waterfalls, forests, vineyards, and beaches) can all be found in Oregon.
While visiting Cannon Beach, we stayed at the Hallmark Resort Hotel which overlooks Haystack Rock. One evening, I walked to the beach to photograph this adorable couple, while my husband, John, worked out at the hotel gym. Marriage is all about compromise, right? šā Kayla and Joel had a backyard wedding in Oregon a year ago, but hadn’t had any professional photos taken together since. After having their son Mateo and becoming parents, their lives got even busier and more exciting š I’m so glad that they took the time to get get some photos together, and even made a date night out of it.
Capturing Kayla and Joel felt natural as they ran down the beach laughing, hugging, throwing water at each other, and just being themselves. I also loved watching how during the one hour session, the tide kept changing at Haystack Rock.
Bringing my “real” camera on vacation for the first time in many years felt so good, and I’ve been dreaming lately about capturing more adventurous couples in beautiful places like Oregon.ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā
